The Event

The Children’s Wish Foundation’s Exile Island Cape Breton’s Premiere Corporate Challenge Event

Welcome our Co-Chair's for 2016 Exile Island

Fred Tilley, Principal NSCC Marconi Campus

I was honoured to have been approached by Cathy Sutherland a former student here at NSCC to be the Co-Chair for the 2016 Exile Island fundraising event.  Exile Island provides an opportunity for local business and community leaders to come together for a fun day of friendly competition to both raise awareness and funds for the Children’s Wish Foundation. By participating in the Exile Island event, participants are able to enjoy a fun-filled day of networking and working together to have the opportunity to grant wishes for children with life threatening illnesses. I certainly can’t think of a better event to participate in. At Nova Scotia Community College, we are committed to participating fully in the communities in which we live and work and are extremely honoured to play a role in this year’s Exile Island. So get your tribe’s together and we look forward to a friendly battle on October the 28TH

Cathy Viva, Coordinator of Secondary Programs (7-12), Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board

Making the decision to Co-Chair the Exile Island Fundraising event was very easy having had a family member receive a wish in past years.  I look forward to experiencing Exile Island and getting to know the people that will be involved in the event.  It sounds like the perfect opportunity to reach out to the community and experience the joy of granting wishes to children.  My involvement will hopefully inspire the Education Community to reinforce community ties and encourage our students to reap the benefits of volunteering in our communities.

Cape Breton’s most unique fundraiser, Exile Island, is presented by The Children’s Wish Foundation; Canada’s authority on wish granting having served over 20,000 children nationwide. On Friday, October 28, 2016, Tribes of 5 team members will be exiled to DOWNTOWN SYDNEY for an afternoon of challenges that will test mental, creative and physical abilities. What are they playing for?

  • To win the coveted Immunity Idol
  • Bragging rights for a year
  • To become Cape Breton’s ultimate survivor
  • Grant special wishes to children facing incredible medical challenges
  • Get Involved
