The Event

We would like to invite you to participate in our upcoming Children’s Wish Foundation Exile Island fundraising event on Friday, September 16, 2016.  This event began nine years ago here in Halifax , and has since raised over 3.1 million dollars.

We are currently recruiting “Tribe Captains” to undertake recruiting the 10 members of their tribe for the event day.  Each Tribe is challenged to raise $10,000 which will be donated to the Children’s Wish Foundation.  We are inviting all participants to an undisclosed location for the day. Each of the 10 tribes of 10 participants will be competing to realize the dream of a wish child representing their team for the event.  While at the event, participants will compete in challenges throughout the day and enjoy a day of fun, friendly competition, fundraising and celebration. The competition will be fierce and the rewards even greater.

The Children’s Wish Foundation of Canada is a national organization granting wishes to children between the ages of 3 and 17 living with high risk, life threatening illnesses. Children’s Wish is Canada’s authority on wish granting, proudly serving over 25,000 children since 1984.

After a decade of tribal competition and over 3 million dollars raised, we are celebrating our 10th anniversary of Exile Island!

Join us at The Cunard Centre on September 16, 2016 as we celebrate some very special guests and look back on all the great memories we have of Exile Island. Breakfast of Champions will include all tribes and everyone who has participated at Exile Island over the last ten years and of course those who are interested in becoming a part of the event to kick off Exile Island: Best of the Best

This year’s event challenges will have many fun new twists.  Tribes will compete in head-to-head challenges against rival tribes. First and second place finishers after the preliminary challenges will then compete in the playoffs in order to crown the winner of Exile Island. The challenges will take Tribes across the Halifax Waterfront and will test their ability to work as a team and multi-task.  There will be a food challenge, dance and relay challenge just to name a few. Tribes will have the opportunity to earn extra points throughout the day during the Scavenger Hunt.  They will also be awarded extra points for registering before June 30 and placing in the top 5 for funds raised. The competition will begin this year with a 9:00 a.m. start.  The entire event will be completed by 2:30 p.m.

Once the competition is over, tribes will be treated to appetizers with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages at the after-party!
